From Rita Ora’s necklace to Fendi’s spring bags, ten of the very best accessories of the week
Accessories are everything; they make any outfit look great; in a way, they add value. Of course, you need to know how to play with them. You can’t just let them pile on you without following a precise fashion path. Accessories could be your most precious allies or the most dangerous enemies. If you don’t speak ‘accessory’ make sure you check on the next 10 best accessories of the week.
1) Daisy’s initial necklaces
Following Rita Ora and Cara Delevingne swapping Daisy’s Initial chains as a sign of their stylish friendship, it was impossible not to fall madly in love with, certainly, the most popular accessory of the week. I expected unreasonable prices and obscure designers but I was very happy to realise that they were made both by the adorable Daisy London. I was also excited to find out that the prices were very reasonable and not at all celebrity-like. With a chain with an initial starting from £100, we can definitely expect Daisy’s chains to be finally welcomed in the fashion Olympus.
Wear it now…on a light blue cardigan in the morning or a black top to make it glow after sunset.
2) Fendi’s ‘baguettes’
Bloggers can’t stop talking about them and I can definitely see why. There are bags and then there are Fendi’s beaded ‘baguettes’; a seasonal must for fashion lovers who just want to look amazing with the right accessory on their arm.
If you want you can always take a step forward and go for Fendi’s little zipped Rubik’s Cube, a Fendi’s pochette with a playful twist.
Wear it now…on a stripe summer dress to tell the world you are not afraid of mixing and matching with different shapes and lines.
3) ASOS Ankle Socks
I wasn’t extremely sure about ankle socks but when I saw this polka-dot pair on ASOS, I instantly gave in; just like that. They are incredibly cute and a nice way to say our farewell to tick pair of gloomy tights and heavy jumpers; time to show some skin, ladies, it’s spring.
Wear it now… with a funny mini-skirt and ankle-boots.
4) Hula-Hoop Chanel Bag
It’s hard to say no to anything called Chanel and we can’t definitely say no to this hula-hoop Chanel bag. It’s a classic and Karl Lagerfeld’s latest ‘piece de resistance’. Buy it if you can afford it; after all if you get tired of the bag, something that I really doubt, you can always hula-hoop in it.
Wear it now… on a white tennis skirt for a playful touch or during a work-meeting to break a serious suit.
5) Marc Jacobs’ diet cokes
I know they are not ordinary fashion accessories but Marc Jacobs’ diet coke bottles can’t really pass unnoticed. Holding the position of creative director for the 30th birthday of Diet Coke, Marc Jacobs has really outdone himself producing high-stylish creations just like he only could do.
Wear it now…with a Marc Jacobs’ on your arm, blissful.
6) Liberty London’s Scarf
Is there anything more iconic than a scarf by Liberty? I particularly love the Tree of Life Liberty Scarf in silk. Based on a Persian design about fertility, it says spring like nothing else.
Wear it now… on a warm day with your favourite shorts.
7) ASOS Monochrome 70s Sunglasses
Have you got the 70s in you? Prove it with this latest pair of sunglasses by ASOS. Inspired to the glorious 70s, these sunglasses are the best if you want to go for a vintage yet classic style. And, with, hopefully, more sunny days to look forward to, you couldn’t find a better excuse to get them in time for lazy Sundays.
Wear it now… with a long jeans skirt and your favourite ice-cream cone for a windy-day on the beach.
8) Ted Baker Treasured Orchid Wash Bag
It’s not Spring if you can’t find something ‘flowery’ to buy or wear. This amazing wash bag by Ted Baker is, exactly, what I am referring to. Its high-gloss finish and orchid print make it one of the best items by Ted Baker to buy this season.
Wear it now… with a matching Ted Baker’s bag of course.
9) New Look Pop Art Clutch
Pop Art never goes out of fashion and this Pop Art clutch by New Look is a great example. It’s practical yet funky and with a lively twist.
Wear it now…with your sexiest mini-dress for a night out with your girls.
10) John and Pearl Flo Bracelet, available from Urban Outfitters
This bracelet makes a bright and bold fashion statement using charm details and fabrics. Designed by Julie Hannay, it is the perfect choice for those of us who want to be on the tough-girly side.
